The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has finalised changes to the management of the government’s property services.
The ministry’s Enhancing MBIE Property Services report released on Tuesday showed that a new Government Property Office (GPO) will be formed by combining MBIE Property and the Government Property Group (GPG).
It also established a new role, GPO general manager, to lead the new office.
The report said the new operating model aimed to improve efficiency, alignment, and capability in managing MBIE’s and the government’s property systems, with the new structure to go live on 3 February 2025.
