ComCom’s supermarket pricing charges hit court

The Commerce Commission has moved on its December announcement that it would commence legal action over what it calls inaccurate pricing and misleading specials by supermarkets.

The competition watchdog yesterday filed charges against two of Foodstuffs North Island’s Pak’nSave supermarkets over alleged breaches of the Fair Trading Act.

They were laid in the Auckland District Court against Pak’nSave Silverdale in Auckland and Pak’nSave Mill Street in Hamilton – two of the supermarkets named by the commission in December as being at the centre of its investigations.
