The value of residential building consents issued for the March 2025 year totalled $17.65bn, down 3.1% from the prior 12 months.

Stats NZ’s latest building consents figures released on Friday showed the number of residential consents for the year fell by 3.3% to 34,062.

The number of housing consents increased by 5.3% to 15,975.
