Annual value of hotels, motels consents fall

The value of building consents issued for hotels, motels and other short term accommodation totalled $249m in the year to January 2025.

Stats NZ’s January data for building consents showed the latest annual figure was down from the $320m reported for the previous 12 months.

For the month of January, the value of building consents issued for hotels, motels and other short term accommodation totalled $10m, up from $3m for the same month a year earlier.
