Farm sales rise – REINZ

Farm sales totalled 302 in the three months to January 2025, up 26.9% compared to the same period a year earlier.

The latest figures from the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand showed the number of sales fell 9% compared to the 332 recorded for the month to December 2024.

Over the past year, a total of 1,027 farms changed hands, 106 more than the previous year.

The median price per hectare for all farms sold in the three months to January 2025 stood at $28,925, down 2.3% from January 2024 and a 0.7% dip from December 2024.
