Kiwi Property has appointed Sarah Theodore its new chief financial officer.
Theodore is deputy chief financial officer at NZX/ASX dual-listed retirement village operator Summerset Group Holdings.
She will fill the vacancy at Kiwi Property created by Steve Penney’s resignation in December.
Kiwi Property said Theodore has also held senior leadership roles at Transpower New Zealand and Macquarie Group in a 20-year career that spans banking, infrastructure, property and retirement living across New Zealand and Australia.

“We are very pleased to appoint Sarah to the role of CFO, part of the Kiwi Property executive leadership team,” Kiwi Property chief executive Clive Mackenzie said.
“Sarah has a strong background in listed company finance, global capital markets and investment advisory, and brings established relationships with our institutional investors, banks and analysts.
“This makes Sarah well placed to lead Kiwi Property’s financial strategy and capital management.”
She is expected to start the CFO role in late July 2026.
Kiwi Property said that until then, Tiniya du Plessis will be company’s interim CFO, providing support and guidance to the business across all financial matters.
“Tiniya has extensive experience in both corporate reporting advisory services and assurance,” the company said.
