Property Moves: CBRE bolsters team, new sales VP for Millennium, TBIG snaps up grads …and more!

Zahid Al Abayechi

CBRE has named four appointments, boosting its northern teams

Zahid Al Abayechi has joined as CBRE from Bayleys as a director and head of the agent’s Auckland property management function.

He was with Bayleys for the previous three years, most recently as national portfolio manager.


Claire McLellan has joined CBRE as associate director and quality risk manager in the agent’s commercial valuation and advisory services team.

She joined in February from property valuation business Opteon, where she had been for 12 years.

She previously worked for TelferYoung, which is now part of CBRE.


Jason Uden has rejoined CBRE’s Hamilton valuation business as a registered valuer.

He has also worked for Opteon and TelferYoung.

He has previously been a property consultant at Quotable Value.


And Ashton Gibbard has joined CBRE as an associate director in its Northland valuation and advisory services team.

He joined in January, having been at Opteon for five years.

Gibbard has also worked for Quotable Value and Property Brokers.


Millennium Hotels and Resorts has taken on Melanie Beattie as its vice president of sales and partnerships for New Zealand.

The company said Beattie had extensive experience in driving growth, channel sales performance and strategic partnerships.

Before joining MCK, Beattie was head of distribution at Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited and has also held senior roles at ASB Bank, Ernst & Young, and IBM.


The Building Intelligence Group has appointed Tristan Cantlon to the role of assistant project manager.

Cantlon will join TBIG’s Auckland team.

He recently graduated with a Bachelor of Building Science in Project Management and Sustainable Engineering Systems from Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.


TBIG has also appointed Henry McIntyre to assistant project manager in Wellington.

McIntyre was the inaugural recipient of the TBIG Keystone New Zealand Property Education Trust School Leaver Scholarship.  

He recently graduated with a Bachelor of Building Science in Project Management and Sustainable Engineering Systems from Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
