Tainui building first in Waikato to receive top energy efficiency rating

Tainui Group Holdings’ Amohia Ake has become the first building in the Waikato to achieve the highest rating for energy efficiency.

The new ACC Centre at Collingwood Street in Hamilton has been awarded the city’s first 6 Star NABERSNZ rating by the New Zealand Green Building Council.

“A 6 star rating is no mean feat, and is a testament to the dedication and vision of Tainui Group Holdings and ACC. It demonstrates what can be achieved when efficiency and getting the best out of our office spaces is prioritised,” said Andrew Eagles, chief executive of the New Zealand Green Building Council.

Of the more than 150 NABERSNZ rated buildings, Amohia Ake is one of only half a dozen buildings in New Zealand certified to 6 Star NABERSNZ.
