Queenstown is the only major hotel market to consistently track above lat year’s performance during the start of autumn, according to figures from STR.
The popular destination saw average revenue per available room for the week to 22 March increase by 13.6% to $281.41, compared to the same week last year.
In comparison with the week of 17-23 March 2024, Queenstown recorded for the week of 16-22 March 2025:
STR collects daily accommodation data from 44% of all hotel rooms in New Zealand, including 70% of all rooms in Auckland, 67% of all rooms in Queenstown, 52% of all rooms in Christchurch, and 50% of all rooms at Wellington hotels.
